DANTE, A HELLISH GAME! – Kids Workshop

Have you ever seen the hell? Have you ever lost in a dark forest? Oh what a scary!!! Don’t worry, Dante will guide you in this infernal game, he’s 750 years but not too old to play with you! Your trip will be less dangerous but full of mysteries! You will meet Charon, he will bring you along the circles of hell, fantastic monsters, the story of Paolo and Francesca, the greedy Ciacco, strange characters that run like tops with their little flags, the ancient poets and the bedlam of liars! Luckily, you’ll see with me only pictures, statues, strange sites in the sunlight! Come and play with me at this special children workshop!!!

Educational Goals: The teaching proposal aims formative knowledge of the major Italian poet: Dante, for his 750^th birth anniversary! The Kids will approach through the game to the Divine Comedy, knowing the most fascinating chapter: The Hell (Inferno)!

Path: Dante, a Hellish Game Path opens in front of the St. John Baptistery to get to the Piazza Santa Croce! Duration of Kids Workshop is about 2 hours, starts with funny reading of The Hell (Inferno)! Seeing the important sites where lived the famous Florentine poet!

Content and Methodologies: During the workshop will be told episodes of Florentine Tradition, the historical events of Dante Alighieri era, his true home, special monuments and sites. Both teaching tools of animated reading and workshop for image education will be used. Kids will make an infernal poetry, drawing and writing with their point of view.

Instructions for Dante, a Hellish Game Path: Duration is about 2 hours in the open air. It’s recommended therefore sneakers and hat and a bottle of water. The Kids are required to bring a large sheet of wrapping paper from home, colored pencils (or markers), a canvas bag with an old sheets or rags.

Final work for Dante, a Hellish Game workshop: a children infernal poetry will be read in front of Dante statue in Santa Croce square or theater performance about The Hell (Inferno)!!

Age: Primary School, Kids and Family groups.

Dante, a Hellish Game is an educational Walking Tour in Florence, that will tell the story of the famous Italian poet in historical sites, Kids will be protagonists of an exciting path, full of surprises and unusual curiosity!

• Time Tour – Morning 10 – 12; Afternoon 15 – 17; Sunday Afternoon 15 – 17 (15 minutes before, close to St. John Baptistery).
• Pricing = Workshop 70 € (Max 15 kids); Family Group 20 € Each (Minimum 4 Families to start the workshop).
